CartCaddy Motorized Carts

Applications for Motorized Carts

Our CartCaddy motorized carts are intended to work with carts and equipment that move in a straight line and are attached to a steering system (i.e. on rails). These carts provide motorized directional force while the facility's steering mechanism maintains the route of the cart. The unit has been very successful with assembly line applications as well as applications involving pieces of equipment assembled with wheels on them (i.e. buses, motor homes, tractors and carts).

These carts and vehicles often have large pneumatic tires and are fairly easy to push. In general, the larger the wheel, the less rolling resistance, and the easier the equipment is to push. Exceptions include applications where the motorized movers are used for a wagon wheel cart or a farm cart. These carts have a tongue that when turned, the front axle turns (known as the wagon wheel), or the front two wheels turn independently (known as the farm cart). These applications can easily be solved if the motorized CartCaddy is modified with a pin, pintle hitch, or ball hitch.

Benefits of Motorized Carts

The CartCaddy motorized carts are ergonomically designed to prevent the strains and pains often associated with manually pushing and pulling heavy carts and equipment. The use of the CartCaddy carts minimizes the risk of injury, which in turn reduces the overall number of workers' compensation and insurance claims. Each year work-related musculoskeletal disorders, such as tendinitis, neck pain, and back pain, account for billions of dollars in workers' compensation costs and for about one-third of all lost workday injuries.

Riding tugs, fork trucks, and walkies are often utilized to maneuver carts and other equipment short distances. These solutions require more storage space and are more costly than CartCaddys. For example, the average cost of our motorized cart is about one-fifth the cost of the traditional equipment used. Incorporating the usage of the CartCaddy into your workplace allows the traditional tugs, walkies, and trucks to be used for their originally intended purposes. The CartCaddy motorized tug is less bulky than traditional equipment carts, resulting in lower maintenance costs and fewer accidents. The maneuverability of the powered cart reduces any damage caused to surrounding parts and equipment.
